bees

Beekeepers across the UK and Europe have seen a frightening fall in the number of their bees in the last few years. Now a new film is suggesting that pesticides could be to blame for the dwindling stocks.

The importance of bees to food production can’t be overstated – over a third of the food we eat in the UK is pollinated by bees.

The new film, Vanishing of the Bees, claims the cause is the use of a new generation of pesticides that weakens the bees and makes them more susceptible to other diseases.
